At Bentley Riding School, we are thrilled to offer a unique and exciting Pony Club experience for children and young adults who are passionate about ponies and equestrian activities. Whether you’re a beginner taking your first steps into the world of horses or an experienced rider looking to enhance your skills, our Pony Club is designed to help every member thrive in a friendly and supportive environment.
Our Pony Club is not just about riding – it’s about building confidence, developing teamwork, and learning valuable skills in horse care and equitation. With our dedicated team of instructors and our wonderful ponies, we ensure that every session is packed with fun, learning, and adventure.
Every Saturday, join us for a mix of hands-on activities, games, riding sessions, and interactive learning. Led by our experienced Pony Club coaches, these sessions are tailored to suit a variety of ages and abilities, ensuring that every member feels supported and challenged.
Members can work towards a range of achievement badges that cover topics such as pony care, riding skills, and countryside knowledge. These badges are a fun and rewarding way to build skills and celebrate progress.
Through structured activities and guidance, our members will gain confidence both on and off the saddle. From learning how to groom and tack up a pony to mastering the basics of dressage or jumping, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
During school holidays, we offer additional opportunities such as themed pony days, giving our members even more chances to bond with the ponies and their fellow riders.
Over the Summer we will also be trying to get a few guests in to talk over some different topics!
As part of The Pony Club structure, members can work towards Pony Club Efficiency Tests and Progressive Certificates. These provide a clear pathway for developing riding and horse care skills, with each level bringing new challenges and achievements.

Bentley RS is proud to be a Pony Club Affiliated Centre, which means we operate under the official guidelines of The Pony Club. To participate in our Bentley RS Pony Club sessions, customers must first become members of The Pony Club.
Once you’ve joined The Pony Club, send us proof of your membership (a confirmation email or membership number) via email to bookings@bentleyridingschool.com We’ll verify your membership and make sure you’re ready to book and access our regular Pony Club sessions!
Pricing
Morning Session 10am – 12:30pm £45 per child
Afternoon Session 2pm – 5:30pm £55 per child
All day Sessions 10am – 5:30pm £80 (must only be booked with an afternoon session)
Hat hire - £2
Once you have completed your pony club membership and we have linked that to your ECPro account with us, you will be able to see sessions and make bookings. Any session that comes up on the system is fine for you to book.

How is progress tracked/recorded?
On the last Saturday of every month, we run an ‘assessment week’ (nothing scary 😊) where we simply assess where the children are at with their learning, go over some of the topics they have been learning and award any certificates that they may have achieved.
At the end of each term, we run a presentation session where children and parents are invited to attend, children will then be presented with the badges they have gained over that term (a small charge for badges which will be sent out with the invitation letter).
Once they have achieved a certificate/badge this will be uploaded by us to their Pelham portal (which comes with the membership) where parents can view their progress.
Do children have to attend every week?
There is no set timeframe that children have to work through their badges/certificates, so it does not matter how regularly they attend.
OPENING HOURS
We are open from Tuesdays to Sundays.
Mrs M Beaven has been granted the licence from Babergh District Council to keep a riding establishment at the above premises.
